Activist Aleksandar Jovanovic Cuta of the Ecological Uprising movement announced a joint participation in the election with the Open Civic Platform 'Action' led by former Sabac mayor Nebojsa Zelenovic.

Speaking to N1, Jovanovic said that the former mayor has already managed to gather dozens of associations and that he achieved good results while he was at the helm of the city administration in Sabac.

“If only every mayor did what Zelenovic did in Sabac,” said Jovanovic, adding that the city among others solved the issue of landfill and free public transportation.

Speaking of the Ecological Uprising’s goals, he said their main goal is to prevent the opening of the Rio Tinto company’s lithium mine and preventing the construction works at Belgrade’s Makis neighbourhood, the site planned for the metro station, so that the city is not left without water.
