The report signed by the head of the Privrednik Serbian Business Club Zoran Drakulic, Serbian Academy of Sciences ad Arts (SANU) economy committee member Bosko Mijatovic, Belgrade University economics Professor Danica Popovic and former National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Governor Dejan Soskic, said that project has not justification and should be discontinued.
According to them, the total revenue from the project would amount to 17.4 million Euro a year or 2.6 Euro per capita. They said Serbia would finance the project including the construction of roads, railways, water and gas supply networks, power infrastructure costing several hundred million Euro but would not get a share in the ownership. They also warned of huge expenses to deal with environmental disasters.
The authors of the report said that the Serbian government is planning to secure 419 million Euro in subsidies with no transparency or guarantees to build a battery plant for the Slovak InoBat company which, they said, has no experience in the mass production of batteries.
