Economy minister says Zijin pillar of Serbian economy

“The investment was a strategic partnership between the Zijin Group and the Republic of Serbia and is not just a sign of trust but also confirmation that Serbia attracts significant investors and can achieve a prosperous future,” a ministry press release quoted Cvetkovic as saying during a visit to the company in the town of Bor.

The minister said that Zijin increased the number of employees at the Bor Mining and Smelting Basin by 25 percent and reported triple the income reported before the Basin was privatized. “Last year the record-high profits were 341 million Dollars with investments of 795 million Dollars,” Cvetkovic said.

He said the government will support the development of the company and mine.
