Someone who behaves anti-European cannot lead Serbia to the European Union at the same time, European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos told N1 Slovenia, adding that she hopes that Aleksandar Vulin will therefore not be in the new Government of Serbia.

In an interview for N1 Slovenia, Marta Kos was asked, among other things, about the relations between Serbia and Russia, and rather the role played by the outgoing Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin.

"You mention Serbia's flirtation with Moscow: it certainly cannot be a coincidence that after your meeting with (Aleksander) Vucic, and before his meeting with Ursula von der Leyen, the former head of the BIA (Security and Intelligence Agency) and now the Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vulin, gave an interview to the Russian news agency RIA Novosti. He thanked the Russian intelligence services for helping the Serbian authorities in the fight against the student protests. At the same time, he said that, in his opinion, Serbia will never be an EU member state but a member of the BRICS alliance, which also includes Russia and China. How did you understand that?", the host asked her.

"I hope that Mr. Vulin will no longer be in the new government. Because someone who behaves anti-European cannot lead Serbia to the European Union at the same time," she replied.
