The minister said the government is saving what it can. “We restored elementary and secondary education and are fighting to restore as much as possible of higher education,” he added and warned that the faculties that do no get on what he said was a lifeboat would slowly and surely wipe themselves off the academic map.
He said that the academic year has to be finished before new students are enrolled. The Minister said the law is very clear on that point – a new generation of students can only be enrolled once the previous academic year is completed. According to him, some university schools have not even started making up lost classes. “They are even creating ideological fortresses at their faculties… They want to use the universities for political activities and a wider mobilization to create chaos in Belgrade,” he told the pro-regime TV Pink.
