Nikola Curcin from the Independent Union of Serbian Education Workers called on his fellow teachers from primary and secondary schools to join a mass work stoppage on Student Day on April 4.
Curcin told FoNet that the number of teachers participating in the teaching stoppage continues to grow daily, with thousands currently involved.
“Schools in Novi Sad and Belgrade are in the lead, along with grammar and high schools in virtually all major cities in Serbia, which are also experiencing student blockades,” he noted, adding that he expects schools and teachers who recently returned to classes to join the stoppage on April 4 as well.
The United Educators of Serbia has also called for the work stoppage on April 4 under the slogan “Support Students on Student Day.”
