"I suggest that we together identify projects we can work on. We are here to provide technical assistance in the preparation and implementation of projects and financially support projects in the green sector. The area of energy efficiency is also interesting for our cooperation," Pavlova said after meeting Zorana Mihajlovic, Serbia's Minister of Mining and Energy.

Mihajlovic said that "apart from current projects such as the construction of the Serbia-Bulgaria gas interconnection and the 'smart meters' project, there is a lot of room for our cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency."

She added that several ways had been set, how to increase energy efficiency and that this was done with citizens and households, and that auctions had been introduced to attract investments in renewable sources (RES) and develop projects in geothermal energy.
