All forms of campaigning have to cease at midnight on the night of Wednesday-Thursday under Serbian election laws which uses the term election silence.

Under the law no statements or any other form of election activities, including rallies, statements and the publication of election results projections, are allowed before polling stations close at 8:00 pm on Sunday, April 3. The law also bans any political propaganda materials (posters, flyers and other paraphernalia) 50 meters from polling stations in any direction. If that regulation is violated, the polling station commission is disbanded and the vote rerun.

Serbia has amended its law on electronic media to ban campaigning by public officials which means that the media have been banned from reporting on the activities of officials who are running in the elections between March 24 and April 1.
