The goal is for electricity and gas prices to remain unchanged until the end of the heating season, said Serbian Mining and Energy Minister Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic.
She said the overhaul of the first unit of the Bajina Basta Reversible Hydroelectric Power Plant will be completed by the end of the year, while the second unit’s refurbishment is planned for 2025.
The minister told the Serbian state TV (RTS) that next year will mark the opening of the country’s first solar power plant and wind farm.
Djedovic Handanovic also noted that the lifting of the moratorium on the construction of nuclear power plants paves the way for Serbia to include nuclear energy in its energy mix.
