A ranking official of the Mining and Energy Ministry said on Tuesday that Czechia and Slovakia’s experience with nuclear energy could provide Serbia with important guidelines.

Assistant Minister Jovana Joksimovic said after a visit to those two countries that they could provide guidelines in terms of legislature, the participation of scientists and experts and the possible development of complex projects, a press release said.

Joksimovic visited Czechia and Slovakia with national power company (EPS) CEO Dusan Zivkovic and Vinca Nuclear Science Institute CEO Slavko Dimovic, the press release said.

“The energy crisis and Green Agenda goals have practically brought about a renaissance of nuclear energy in Europe,” Joksimovic is quoted as saying. She recalled that the Energy Development Strategy which is on public debate allows the use of nuclear energy in Serbia for the first time.
