Escobar: EU proposal not recognition agreement

Escobar told reporters that he does not expect Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti to sign the agreement at their meeting in the North Macedonia city of Ohrid on Saturday. He added that Washington feels that the EU proposal is an opportunity to advance the normalization process.

We expect both sides to be serious, flexible and constructive and for Kosovo and Serbia to have peaceful, predictable and constructive relations benefiting the entire region, he said. Escobar said he believes a normalization agreement could be reached by the end of the year.
