The European Union is set to donate 165 million Euro to Serbia which President Aleksandar Vucic said was one percent of the national budget.
Speaking at the signing, Vucic said that the money will strengthen the country’s energy industry capacities. “I want people to know abiout this because we often underestimate what the EU does for us. They gave money from their taxpayers to the citizens of Serbia,” he said.
EU Delegation chief Emanuel Giaufret said at the signing of the agreement on an energy support packet that the money is intended to be direct support to the Serbian budget. He added that the EU supports the energy industry of the entire Western Balkans region.
