The European Union’s (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, will meet Tuesday with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, EU spokesperson Anitta Hipper announced.
She clarified that the meeting is not related to the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.
During a press briefing, Hipper noted that the High Representative had condemned the “terrorist attack” on the Ibar-Lepenca water canal in a statement over the weekend and welcomed the investigation by Kosovo authorities, emphasizing that the perpetrators must be brought to justice.
The spokesperson explained that EULEX does not have the executive mandate to conduct its own investigation, but that it is monitoring the situation and was present during Kosovo police operations.
We need cooperation from both sides. You have seen the High Representative’s reaction to the attack and how we refer to it in the statement issued by High Representative Kallas, Hipper said.
