Mortar shells were fired at a European Union peacekeepers’ camp in the Somalian capital, the Serbian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday, adding that none of the Serbian contingent with the EUCAP mission were injured in the attack.

“No one was wounded in the shelling. All six Serbian military personnel are fine and are continuing in their duties,” a press release said.
It said that General Zelimir Glisovic, head of the General Staff operations department, called Serbian contingent commander Colonel Dragan Krstic who told him that his personnel are well, motivated and committed.

The Serbian military deployed a staff officer and five medical personnel with the EU mission in Somalia. “The General Staff is constantly monitoring the situation in all peace operations where Serbian military personnel are deployed and is in constant contact with those contingents,” the press release said.
