Explosive blast damages cars, buildings on Mt Kopaonik

Kopaonik is a popular winter sports and summer resort and hosts the Kopaonik Business Forum.

Witnesses said that the rock was mined at around 5 pm with pieces of rock hurled to the area around the hotel.

One witness said the rocks were “the size of a child’s head”. The witness said there were several hundred people outside when the rocks started falling from the sky. Some of the pieces of the mined rock dropped into the hotel pool. He said there was no one at the site of the blast when the police arrived.
