An English-speaking man was assaulted by a group of right-wing activists including a man who created an incident at an earlier protest.

The small group carried a large flag with nationalist insignia and at least one of them was in military uniform with others wearing T-shirts with the Russian military’s Z on them. One of them was armed with a police-style baton.

Protest security managed to prevent a wider incident. An N1 reporter who was shoved and told to move by the extremists said the group were identified as members of the extreme right People’s Patrols who are know to be violent.

Security personnel said the English-speaking man had been slapped several times after allegedly provoking the right-wing group. They added that the man was taken away by police.
