FDU students in blockade win award for best social media account on X

The PC Press magazine said on its website that social networks played a crucial role in the student blockades and protests across Serbia. They enable students and citizens to quickly and effectively spread information, organize actions, and mobilize support without having to rely on traditional media that often ignore or distort their struggle, it said.

“The FDU in blockade is the most up-to-date and creative of all X accounts of blockaded university faculties. On this account, students share content that showcases their daily lives during the blockade, from planning protest actions to inviting others to join and connecting with other faculties to share their content. Through creative and energetic posts, the profile offers unique insight into the organization and seriousness of student actions,” said the award rationale.

When receiving the award, the protesting FDU students were greeted with standing ovations. They said they continue their struggle, noting that their demands have not yet been met.
