FDU students respond to Prosecutor’s Office: New demands after unmet requests

In response to the statement from the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade (VJT) regarding the identification of men who assaulted Faculty of Dramatic Arts (FDU) students on November 22, FDU students said that not all their demands have been fully met.

The students also released additional demands.
They noted that criminal complaints against the assailants were filed by their dean, rather than by the Internal Affairs Ministry, which had failed to act on their request for seven days.
The students emphasized that the identification of the attackers did not completely satisfy their requests. According to their sources, 26 days after the incident, the Internal Affairs Ministry confirmed the identities of some perpetrators but has not identified other participants in the organized attack.
The students criticized Serbian state TV (RTS) for its reporting on the blockade and the assaults against them.
Citing the lack of timely and complete responses to their previous demands, the students said they are compelled to present new ones.
“We demand the urgent questioning of the suspects involved in the physical attack on students, as well as the examination of witnesses by the prosecution. We urge the prosecution to recommend pre-trial detention for the suspects, given the risk of reoffending, since the fifteen-minute blockades commemorating victims are held every day, and their presence poses a threat to the safety of participants. According to media reports, the individuals known to have attacked students and professors include Milija Koldzic, Aleksandar Jokic, Dusan Kostic, Milena Aleksic, and Ivan Stanisic,” their statement reads.
Additionally, the students expanded the list of individuals whom they believe participated in various incidents since the onset of the FDU blockades, demanding that the Internal Affairs Ministry investigate these new names.
“Due to the ongoing violence against students and citizens, we are broadening our original list with new individuals identified through media reports as participants in other incidents that have occurred since the beginning of the FDU blockade,” they noted, naming an additional fifteen individuals.
The students demand that the Internal Affairs Ministry immediately verify the identities of these individuals and identify the remaining members of the organized group responsible for the attacks on students, whose identities are still unknown to the public.
