This autumn, local bands and artists from the Louder than Censorship initiative and the Exit Festival will organize Blacklist Festival, an event featuring musicians, actors, and other public figures who have been "blacklisted" by Serbia’s current administration.

According to the weekly magazine Radar, the festival aims to unite and empower a creative front of free-thinking individuals who refuse to yield to pressure, blackmail, bribery, or intimidation, while ensuring that the right to free speech and the freedom to take a stand on social issues is never again called into question.

The report adds that Blacklist Festival will bring together independent thinkers who “aren’t for sale,” noting that these are exactly the “kind of people Serbia needs most” right now.

Alongside Louder than Censorship and Exit, several prominent artists and public figures are listed as organizers, while Novi Sad residents recall that this same initiative was behind last year’s Kampus Fest.

Dates and locations have not yet been revealed, but Radar reported that the “festival for the banned” is definitely scheduled for this autumn, with organizers hoping to tour all of Serbia’s university centers if feasible.

Admission will be free, but visitors will be invited to make voluntary donations at the entrance to support musicians who have spent years on the regime’s “blacklist.”
