Scores of citizens once again gathered in front of Serbia’s Assembly in Belgrade for the fifth "Serbia against violence" protest on Saturday evening.

The „Serbia against violence“ protests have been held since May 8. The protests began following two mass murders that took place in the country – on May 3 in Vladislav Ribnikar Elementary School and on the night of May 4 in Duboni and Malo Orasje.

Traffic has been stopped in the area.

As the protest began at 6 pm, those gathered symbolically released a poster with the image of President Aleksandar Vucic which is tied to a balloon into the air.

A group of students also arrived at the protest in an organized manner, which was accompanied by applause. They carry banners that say „Students will not be silent“ and „AV Dictator“.

The protest is expected to last until 9 pm.
