Finance minister expects growth of over six percent in 2020 in Serbia

Speaking to Pink TV, Mali explained that the growth projections have been revised upwards over the past few days, reminding that the relevant institutions previously calculated that the domestic economy would achieve a year-on-year decline of 1.3 percent in the Q1 of 2021 but that instead, the country recorded a 1.2 percent growth.

“We can say that the growth will certainly go over six percent... We think it will be closer to seven than to six percent. If we achieve that, there will be more room for the salary and pension increase. We are close to the average salary of 600 euros but the plan is for the average salary to be 900 euros in 2025 and the average pension to be around 440 euros,” said the minister.

He added that the VAT collection both in gross and net amounts was higher last year compared to 2019 due to the allocation of the 100 euros assistance for all adult citizens. The minister called on the citizens to use the opportunity and apply twice for financial assistance in the amount of 30 euros.
