FinMin: Next IMF mission to Serbia in October

The Serbian Finance Ministry said on Monday that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) would send its next mission to Belgrade in October.

A press release from Finance Minister Sinisa Mali’s meeting with the new IMF Resident Representative Yulia Ustyugova said that this would be the first mission of the new advisory arrangement between Serbia and that financial institution. The mission will review the 2022 state budget, structural reforms and fiscal rules, it said. The new advisory arrangement was confirmed on June 18. It will be in place for 30 months and does not include financial support.

Mali and Ustyugova also discussed the process of drawing funds which the IMF earmarked for member states, it said adding that that the funds are the biggest ever and stand at 890.2 million Dollars for Serbia. The press release said that those funds will come with an annual interest rate of 0.05 percent.
