Serbia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Nikola Selakovic stated that Serbia is trying to make completely independent decisions concerning its destiny, stating that Serbia does not impose sanctions on Russia and that the faster European path is its priority.

“We do not impose sanctions on the Russian Federation, but our priority goal is a faster European path to change society, strengthen the rule of law, attract as many investments as possible, and be someone who seriously maintains financial discipline in public finances at a time almost no country in Europe can do that,“ Selakovic told RTS.

Stating that Serbia must adapt to certain circumstances, European and global, Selakovic said that „actions of our state are in our hands when it comes to certain requirements in the process of European integration.“

Selakovic said that the price that Serbia should pay is the one that was paid by other countries that joined the EU.

„We must try to make it as small as possible for us, to get as much as possible for as little as possible, that is the rule of rational business, the rule of good administration,“ Selakovic said.
