French Embassy: CSM draft statute court evaluation chance for Kosovo’s CoE membership

Responding to an inquiry by the koha.net portal, the Embassy said that the European Union’s draft statute is the best basis that has been offered for the establishment of the CSM.

Sending the CSM draft statute for evaluation to the Constitutional Court has been mentioned as one of the clear steps that Kosovo must take to ensure support in the Council of Europe, but Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has said that Kosovo has not accepted that plan as separate from the entire plan (Brussels and Ohrid), the portal quoted the Embassy as saying.

Sending the draft statute to the Kosovo Constitutional Court for evaluation would be a welcome step to ensure support for Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe, the Embassy said.
