Sunday marks 100 days since the canopy collapsed at the Railway Station in Novi Sad. Five students from the University of Kragujevac will run a relay marathon to Belgrade today to deliver invitations for a protest to their colleagues in Novi Sad, Nis, and Belgrade. The protest will take place on February 15th in Kragujevac, on the Day of Serbian Constitution and Statehood. The relay marathon started at 9 AM in front of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, and the finish line will be in front of the Saint Sava Temple in Belgrade around 10 PM. The students are expected to complete the 115-kilometer route in about 13 hours to deliver symbolic invitations for colleagues to attend the celebration of Serbian constitutionalism and statehood on February 15th.
Additionally, students from the Faculty of Agriculture in Zemun will block the Gazela Bridge in Belgrade from 11 AM to 6 PM.
In Novi Sad, three major intersections will be blocked for three hours, from 11 AM to 2 PM, effectively preventing access to the city. As announced by the University of Novi Sad, the blockades will take place on the 100th day since the tragic incident at the Railway Station, in which 15 people were killed and two seriously injured.
A column of students and citizens left Nis today from two locations toward the Niš-North toll station. The toll station will be blocked until 9 PM, and possibly longer, according to N1's reporter.
A student involved in organizing the blockade told N1 that they chose to block the Nis-North toll booth because it would halt a significant portion of traffic in the surrounding area.
Protests and "15 minutes of silence" will also be held in several cities across Serbia, as well as internationally. Students participating in the blockade have called on fellow citizens to gather in large numbers on the streets of Niš, Belgrade, Vlasotince, Čačak, Gornji Milanovac, and other locations.
