Miroslav Aleksic MP raised the question of whether the BIA took a sonic weapon from the Gendarmerie just days before the protest and whether agency personnel used it as alleged by protesters, the opposition and various NGOs.
“The Serbian Gendarmerie has not handed over any kind of equipment to the BIA in the previous period…. The Gendarmerie did not use any illegal equipment ever, including on March 15,” a statement said.
The BIA also issued a statement denying that its agents ever used what the public has been calling a sound cannon. According to a BIA statement, its personnel did not see that kind of equipment nor did they notice sounds or any other effects produced by that kind of equipment. It accused Aleksic and others of lying about the alleged use of a sonic weapons on March 15.
The BIA said it never had that kind of weapon.
