German Arte TV shows TV cables cut in southern Serbia

The Arte TV crew was making a report on attacks on independent media in Serbia which included the video of the Vranje Elektorsistem company workers cutting the cables.

The report said that the same thing is happening in small towns in Serbia, adding that cables owned by small operators have been cut for months. “None of the communal services workers can show any permit for the job or a court order and they don’t want to be recorded,” it added. The video showed one of the workers threatening to call the police.
