The German Government confirmed for the Pristina media that, together with France, it put forward a proposal within the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, and that they support the process led by European envoy Miroslav Lajcak.

The German Government said it firmly believes that the political issues regarding the path to full normalization should be dealt with faster and in a more decisive manner so as not to leave any room for escalation on the ground, said the German Government.

This was highlighted at the recent high-level meetings and proposals for this are being discussed confidentially. These discussions are ongoing, it added.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic spoke about the German-French initiative last week, following which Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti confirmed the existence of this initiative saying it is a way to test the mood of the two parties.

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani also commented the proposal, describing it as serious.
