Speaking to reporters before a Human Rights Day ceremony at the Yugoslav Film Archive in Belgrade, the Ambassador stressed that these rights must be exercised peacefully and within legal boundaries.

We value people’s ability to express themselves and make their voices heard, Giaufret said.

When questioned about the student protests and blockades, Serbian Human and Minority Rights Minister Tomislav Zigmanov declined to comment, saying that it wasn’t the focus of the day’s event.
