The driver of a black station wagon rammed into the crowd throwing the girl onto the hood and then the roof of the car before she dropped off behind and remained lying on the ground. Student security guards rushed up to help her and try to stop the driver from leaving but he sped away.
The girl was treated by paramedics at the scene.
The Belgrade police said it had located the driver who rammed into the crowd, identifying him only by his initials. The driver was arrested and faces charges of attempted murder.
This was just one of several similar incident when drivers rammed through crowds of students standing in silence since the protests started in the wake of the Novi Sad tragedy.
