The Go-Change (Kreni–Promeni in Serbian) movement accused the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) of illegally broadcasting a political ad over 2,000 times on TV stations with national broadcasting licenses between March 25 and April 9, calling it a misuse of public office.

A rally of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic’s supporters of was held in Belgrade from April 11 to 13, and in the days leading up to the event, TV ads were aired inviting citizens to attend.

Go-Change spokesperson Nikola Stankovic said the SNS had illegally broadcast a political commercial over a 16-day period and that the movement had filed a complaint with the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media (REM).

“From March 25 until April 9, a political ad promoting an SNS party rally was aired on Pink TV, Prva, B92, Happy, and Informer TV. The ad also attacked the opposition and discredited citizen protests,” Stankovic said.

He emphasized that such conduct is a serious violation of the law and argued that it was not public information, but rather an abuse of publicly licensed airwaves.

“This is a clear breach of the law, as the Law on Electronic Media explicitly states that political advertising is neither regulated nor permitted outside of an official election campaign,” Stankovic added.

He noted that the ad was aired on a large number of cable channels as well, but clarified that the current complaint is focused solely on broadcasters with national and regional licenses.
