Go-Change movement: Clinical Center issued false statement written by Minister Loncar

Nikola Stankovic, spokesperson for the Go-Change movement and Belgrade councilor, said that anyone who reads the statement issued by the Clinical Center of Serbia following the discharge of Go-Change leader Savo Manojlovic cannot shake the impression that it was written by Serbia’s Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar.
Manojlovic was arrested Wednesday during a protest against the demolition of a historic bridge in central Belgrade. Following his arrest, members of the Go Change movement reported that Manojlovic was feeling unwell due to the brutal treatment he received at the hands of the police and that he was taken to the Emergency Center for medical attention.
“When you read the statement issued by the Clinical Center of Serbia, which was urgently delivered to the regime’s media before Savo Manojlovic even left the Emergency Center, you cannot shake the impression that it was written by a hand we all know so well. The signature and stamp on this text, we have no doubt, were personally put by the Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar, who, according to the testimony of our activists, was present at the Emergency Center while Savo Manojlovic was being examined,” Stankovic said.
The statement, “which surely passed through the hands of the Zemun Clan’s and (Serbian President Aleksandar) Vucic’s favorite doctor reads that 'Savo Manojlovic was brought to the Emergency Center, no injuries were found, and he was discharged.' However, Emergency Center documents contradict this claim, and the diagnoses provided by doctors tell a completely different story,” said Stankovic, citing details from Manojlovic’s discharge papers.
He said that, according to discharge papers from the Emergency Center, several serious injuries were recorded. A radiologist reported signs of a fractured rib on Manojlovic’s right side, while an orthopedic specialist noted scratches and swelling on both knees and wrists. Additionally, a neurosurgeon documented bruising and abrasions to his forehead and both temples.
“The attached photographs clearly depict the injuries sustained - clear evidence of the brutal police mistreatment Manojlovic endured,” Stankovic said. “What is even more apparent is the abuse of one of the country’s most important healthcare institutions, which has been placed in the service of defending the repressive state apparatus and the arrogance of the regime,” he added.
“This is yet another example of how public institutions, which should serve the people, are being turned into tools of the state, while the truth and human dignity are the victims of political propaganda. But trust me, the truth has an inconvenient characteristic - it always comes out,” said Stankovic.
