Government sets up Council for Prevention of Peer Violence


At its session on Thursday the Serbian Government formed a Council for Prevention of Peer Violence that will be headed by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, with Minister of Family Welfare and Demography Darija Kisic as her deputy.
The Council is tasked with ensuring the organization of mobile teams for peer violence through protocols between centers for social work and other services, such as educational and health institutions and the police, which will swiftly respond to incidents of peer violence, said the Government.
The Council comprises the Minister of Internal Affairs, Justice Minister, Health Minister, Minister of Information and Telecommunications, Minister of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Minister of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, Minister of Tourism and Youth, an Education Ministry representative and representatives of UNICEF, of the Moms Rule association and of the Centre for Center for Missing and Abused Children.
The Government also adopted a decision on setting up a working group for support to the mental health and safety of young people, which is tasked with drafting a program to support the mental health and safety of young people, with special emphasis on the establishment of multi-sector cooperation.
