Greece issues warning for dried strawberries from Serbia

The Greek authorities issued a warning for dried strawberries from Serbia which were polluted with Sulphite.

The warning was issued on the European Commission’s Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) said that the authorities found “Sulphite undeclared (sulfur dioxide) on dried osmotic strawberries from Serbia”. Greece issued a recall of the dried strawberries.

The warning said the assessed risk is serious. It specified that control of the dried strawberries imported from Serbia had been found to contain 27 mg/kg – ppm, almost triple the allowed 10 mg/kg – ppm.
