Hate speech graffiti on Jewish NGO offices in Belgrade

The graffiti said Haver Out of Serbia, Israel Kills Children, Free Palestine, Down with Zionism among other things. The front door of the offices was covered in red paint.

The CBA and Terraforming NGOs said that this was “a toxic expression of hatred against Jews in Serbia” and condemned what they said was a “scandalous antisemitic attack directed against the Jewish community in Serbia”.

The Israeli Embassy also condemned the graffiti as well as others that appeared in Belgrade over the past few weeks, saying that they were not vandalism but the dissemination of hate speech and antisemitism. A statement said that the graffiti was not a reflection of Serbia-Israel relations.

Haver Serbia’s web site says that it is a non-profit, non-governmental, educational organization that promotes a diverse and inclusive society in Serbia and advocates against prejudice, discrimination, anti-Semitism and xenophobia.
