Health Minister blasts young Serbian doctors
Serbian Health Minister Danica Grujicic on Wednesday blasted young medical professionals for not wanting to relocate from their home towns.
Grujicic told the pro-regime TV Pink that some 1,400 doctors are registered as unemployed, adding that medical professionals are in short supply across the country. According to her, unemployed doctors don’t want to relocate to small towns, “preferring to stay at home with dad and mom”. “You do want to go to Canada, so where are mom and dad then,” she said.
The minister called young doctors to relocate to small towns where, she claimed, they will get all kinds of benefits.
Grujicic is a doctor who headed the Belgrade Oncology Institute before being appointed minister.
