Health Ministry issues new COVID recommendations and instructions

A press release said that the Ministry working group recommended testing for the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus as soon as symptoms are noticed, especially for high-risk groups, and ordered mandatory testing for health care staff as well as face masks for everyone entering health care facilities.

Testing is mandatory for patients being admitted to hospital and a ban on visits was recommended but left up to the individual health care facilities.

The working group also instructed local commissions to draw up assessments of the epidemiological situation in their health care facilities within a week and monitor developments.

The press release said that the Ministry working group did not decide to expand the existing COVID facilities but will monitor the situation and provide guidelines.
