A pre-trial judge had previously ordered the farmers to remain under house arrest with electronic monitoring for up to three months.
They were questioned by prosecutors over incidents that took place during the farmers’ protest outside the Vojvodina government building in Novi Sad. They are suspected of violent conduct at a public gathering, allegedly having insulted two Novi Sad residents that day and knocked one of them to the ground.
According to witnesses, two men came to the protest with the intention of provoking the farmers, and despite police removing them from the gathering twice, they returned again - which led to the altercation.
