Hrka started her hunger strike to demand accountability for the collapse of a concrete canopy at the recently reconstructed Novi Sad Railway Station which claimed the life of her son and 15 others on November 1, 2024. “I lost everything on November 1, half of my heart, I am not the same person and never will be but I will try to get justice for all of us,” she said. Hrka announced her hunger strike at the mass protest in Novi Sad on the 1st anniversary of the tragedy.
She added that she would agree to take liquids intravenously if her health gets worse but won’t give up her protest.
Hrka had a message for the women in the Caciland regime supporter camp: they will go home, hug and kiss their children and I never will.
She is convinced that the tragedy would have been covered up if she hadn’t started her protest. Hrka demanded to know why former cabinet ministers weren’t questioned about the collapse of the concrete canopy.
She also denied President Vucic’s claim that she was being advised by anyone, saying she is doing this on her own. She said Vucic is a coward who won’t call elections.
