It said that MOL is buying land from Dunav Oil and has an arrangement with Naftachem for the construction work. The MOL storage terminal in Sremski Karlovci opened six years ago as the Hungarian oil company’s largest investment in Serbia.
The depot has a fully automated fuel management system and originally had five diesel tanks with a capacity of 8,000 m³ and three BMB tanks with a capacity of 4,000 m³, with an additive injection system in parallel with fuel transfer, a biological wastewater treatment plant, an oil separator and cooling systems for tanks to reduce evaporation. Fuel deliveries are by river and road with rail transport coming.
Ekapija recalled that in February, MOL Group Vice President for Fuels Csaba Zsoter told the Serbian state TV RTS that MOL was ready to double the amount of fuel it supplied to Serbia, adding that two new storage units were added to MOL’s terminal in Sremski Karlovci in 2024, with a total capacity of 2,500 m³.
