In Kosjeric, margin of 51 votes, students vow to continue the fight

Ivona, a student from Kosjeric, told N1, “Welcome to the first free town in Serbia.”

“Students will continue to fight for justice, for free and fair elections. For now, our plan is to exert pressure in front of the municipal building , we don’t have a detailed logistics plan yet, especially after what happened last night. Yesterday, we went around the town and villages where we were told about the irregularities, and in the evening, we were in front of the municipal building and the campaign headquarters, in town. We spent the whole day trying to do everything that is in our power,” Ivona explained.

She emphasized that the “51 votes that tipped the scale” show that trust in the ruling party and its legitimacy have declined.

“We managed to awaken the people, to show them what is wrong in the country and locally. I am really glad we succeeded. The fight must go on - irregularities need to be resolved, leading to victory,” she said.

She believes that their campaign through the town and villages helped awaken the people.

“Wherever we went door-to-door, we received various positive reactions. There was an incredible turnout in the elections. We definitely woke people up. I want to thank the bikers, veterans of the 63rd Parachute Brigade, citizens, and fellow students... We are staying here and continuing the fight. We are not tired. I believe we have shown that the machinery present here is losing its legitimacy, and that we can succeed in making the will of the people heard. Students will not stop until everything is sorted out properly,” she concluded.
