Information Ministry condemns attacks on Informer TV journalists

Listing the names of the journalists of the pro-government Informer TV it said were attacked, the Ministry noted that preventing journalists from doing their job, as well as physical assaults, threats, and insults during events they are reporting on, is a gross violation of the Law on Public Information and Media.

It called for a quick and decisive response from the relevant authorities and appropriate sanctions against those responsible for such actions.

Ministry condemns verbal attack on Novi Sad TV editor

The Ministry also strongly condemned the verbal attack on the editor of Novi Sad TV, Emilija Maric, which took place in front of the courthouse building in Novi Sad on Wednesday.

It said in a press release that any form of interference with the work of media professionals is unacceptable and emphasized that it is necessary to enable them to carry out their professional duties without being exposed to verbal or physical violence.

Obstructing or preventing media workers from performing their tasks during events they are reporting on is a severe violation of the Law on Public Information and Media, it said.

The Ministry said it once again calls on everyone to refrain from any form of interference with the work or safety of media professionals.

Media reports indicate that, while working, Emilija Maric was insulted by opposition members on Wednesday during a blockade of the prosecutor’s office and the court building in Novi Sad.
