The organization committee of the We Stand By Our Lauras protest submitted to the State Prosecutorial Council in Belgrade an initiative for the dismissal of Republic Public Prosecutor Zagorka Dolovac, Higher Public Prosecutor Nenad Stefanovic and his deputy Brankica Maric.
The request for the dismissal of Dolovac, Stefanovic and Maric was made on February 25 at a protest in support of prosecutors Bojana Savovic and Jasmina Paunovic, who were transferred from the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office Anti-Corruption Department to the General Crime Department, after having worked for over a year on a case involving embezzlement in the Serbian national power company (EPS).
Lawyer Cedomir Kokanovic said that, by submitting the petition, they were instituting a formal process and giving the State Prosecutorial Council formal grounds to act in line with the law and pass the decisions that the people demand.
The protest organization committee has announced that a new rally of support for prosecutors Savovic and Paunovic will be held on March 10 outside the Serbian Government building.
