Interior Ministry: Shooter called the police, he had Molotov cocktails

Milic said the assistant school principal was the first to contact the police and that police patrols were sent to the school immediately.

He said seven girls and one boy have been killed, and that the weapon was recovered at the scene.

Milic said the attacker planned the shooting a month in advance, that he had a list of people that he planned to kill, and defined priorities.

The police chief said the attacker chose the history classroom because it was closest to the school entrance, that he took the gun from his father’s apartment, and that he had four Molotov Cocktails in his bag.

Milic said that, once he entered the school, the shooter immediately pulled out his gun and shot at the security guard, at a girl sitting at a table by the entrance, and two other girls, following which he proceeded to the history classroom where he opened fire on the teacher and other students.

When he exited the classroom he went to the schoolyard and called the police, following which we arrested him, Milic explained.

The police chief said the shooter admitted to having planned to kill the children, that he drew up a plan of the school entrance and exit, which was found on his desk. The sketch looks like something out of a video game or horror film, said Milic, adding that the shooter had a detailed plan of the classrooms he was planning to enter and children he was going to kill.
