Internal Affairs Ministry: Dean, five other Novi Sad Faculty of Medicine employees arrested for abuse of office
Following reports of arrests at the Faculty of Medicine in the city of Novi Sad, the Serbian Internal Affairs Ministry (MUP) confirmed that a total of six employees of this faculty have been arrested, including the dean.
The Ministry said they were arrested on suspicion of illegally causing damage to the state budget exceeding 181 million dinars (1 euro – 117 dinars) through unlawful actions.
N1’s reporter from Novi Sad said the dean of the University of Novi Sad Medical Faculty, who was detained on Wednesday morning, has since been released.
The suspects have been ordered to remain in custody for up to 48 hours and will be brought before the prosecutor’s office along with a criminal complaint.
