The Internal Affairs Ministry said on Thursday that 63 pedestrians were killed in traffic accidents in Serbia this year.
The press release said that four children were among the dead. The ministry appealed to pedestrians to follow traffic regulations. It said that three pedestrians were killed in the past two days alone, two of them while crossing the street outside pedestrian crossings.
The press release said that about 25 percent of the people who die in traffic accidents are pedestrians.
The Traffic Safety Agency warned that a large number of pedestrians consciously cross streets and highways outside pedestrian crossings.
