Italy seizes soya shipment from Serbia

Italy issued a warning on Tuesday for Soja Protein from Serbia because of high levels of Aflatoxin and seized a consignment at its border. Pročitaj više

A notification issued through the European Commission’s Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) said the consignment exceeded maximum levels for Aflatoxin B1 and Total Aflatoxins in Soja Protein.

The Italian authorities also issued a border rejection notification via the RASFF and classified the risk to consumers as serious.

The Netherlands issued warnings a day earlier for Aflatoxin B1 in Soprotex-N-Slices and Aflatoxine in soyabean flour

from Serbia both classified as a serious risk.

All those warnings were preceded by a notification from Latvia for Aflatoxins in a soy protein product from Serbia on January 30 also classed as a serious risk, from Croatia for Mycotoxins in soybean flour from Serbia on January 24 classed as a serious risk, from Poland for aflatoxin B1 and total aflatoxins in soy flour from Serbia on January 22 classed as serious risk, from Denmark on January 21 for Aflatoxin in Soja Protein from Serbia classed as a serious risk and from Spain on January 16 for Aflatoxins in texturised soy protein from Serbia classed as a serious risk.
