A memorial service was held in Belgrade’s St Sava Temple for Kosovo Serb opposition leader Oliver Ivanovic who was killed 7 years ago in North Mitrovica.

Ivanovic’s widow and son were accompanied at the service by Prime Minister Milos Vucevic, Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic and Foreign Minister Marko Djuric.

Ivanovic was gunned down in front of his party offices on January 16, 2018 and was buried in Belgrade’s New Cemetery two days later. Investigations were launched in Belgrade and Pristina with accusations of obstruction from both sides. A court in Pristina sentenced 4 men for involvement in the murder but the investigation did not come up with the names of any of the organizers or who gave the order to kill Ivanovic who was in opposition to Belgrade-backed politicians.

Ivanovic’s son Nikola told N1 that he is disappointed. “I did not expect as much from Pristina but I did expect much more from Belgrade and that is not happening,” he said.
