JANAF noted that the US Treasury Department introduced a sanctions package against the Russian energy sector on January 10, 2025, due to the war in Ukraine, with the full implementation of these measures beginning on February 27, 2025.

These sanctions also apply to NIS, with which JANAF holds a crude oil transport agreement spanning from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2026.

JANAF said that OFAC had previously issued successive licenses to allow the continued execution of this contract, specifically covering the periods from February 27 to October 8, 2025, and from December 31, 2025, to March 20, 2026.

The company emphasized that it will continue to monitor the situation closely and remain in constant contact with the system user and other key stakeholders.
