Judges Association: Vucic violated constitution

Speaking to a hand-picked audience in southern Serbia following the mass protest in Belgrade and after Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) officials had eggs and water thrown at them in Nis where a party meeting was cancelled.

The JAS statement said that the only way to understand Vucic’s statement is intereference in the competencies of the judiciary authorities which runs counter to the constitutionally proclaimed independence of the judiciary and public prosecutors.

It recalled that holders of public office in the legislative, executive and judiciary authorities are obliged to act conscientiously and responsibly within their legal powers and without interfering in the competencies of the other branches.
